Dermaplaning Facial

Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure where the skin is cleansed and toned before using a fine scalpel at 45 degree angle to exfoliate the epidermis and rid the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). It has been used for many years by the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Marylin Monroe to name a few. Unlike micro dermabrasion which uses a whisk like device which can be very abrasive and have many complications including infections and scarring. Dermaplaning, on the other hand, is a simple shaving of the epidermis.

Because dermaplaning is a quick procedure with few to no adverse effects, it has quickly gained popularity. Using a scalpel and a delicate touch, the therpist simply abrades the surface of the skin using light feathering strokes. The treatment leaves the skin glowing and creates the perfect base for applying make up.

A lot of clients may be concerned that the hair will grow back heavier and darker after dermaplaning. This is absolutely not the case. As long as the hair is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment.

I currently offer an express and a deluxe version of this treatment, if you would like to find out more or book either of these treatments please send me a message via the Contact Me page.
